I am pursuing a PhD in Information Sciences and Technology at Penn State. I work for the Computer Supported Collaboration and Learning Lab and Center for Human Computer Interaction as a research assistant. I expect to graduate in July 2008, so I am currently seeking HCI/CSCW/Community Informatics jobs anticipated to start in fall 2008.

Most recently, in summer of 2007, I worked for SRI International with the Policy Division of the Center for Technology in Learning and the Artificial Intelligence Center. I analyzed Tapped In data and evaluated a recommender system for a military community of practice. I have also worked two summers (2003, 2004) for IBM T.J. Watson Research Center.

Prior to Penn State, I conducted reseach for the Center for Human Computer Interaction at Virginia Tech where I also earned my masters degree in computer science (2002). My thesis investigated the design extension of a collaborative virtual environment, known as MOOsburg, for handheld devices. My advisor was John M. Carroll.

I completed my undergraduate degree in computer science (2000) from the National University of Computer and Emerging Sciences (NUCES), Islamabad, Pakistan. NUCES was established by the Foundation for Advancement of Science and Technology (FAST).
